Minimum Requirements:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) or another legitimate organization.
Experience with multispecialty surgical coding specifically (this is not something that can be picked up without extensive practice and experience as it tends to be specialized).
Approximately 3-6years of overall coding experience (surgical coding experience can be less than five years). For a junior candidate we can be slightly flexible on overall experience.
Thorough understanding of ICD-10 CM and CPT coding procedures and guidelines.
Knowledge or experience with eClinical Works which is the client’s EMR software is a plus but if not it is okay as the individual can be trained on this and it is not a deal breaker.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Pharmacy or relevant field.
